Privacy Policy

This policy explains how KOFFIECOFFEE handles information when you use the iPhone app, the website, and related support services.

Last updated: 23 July 2026

1. Who is responsible for your data

KOFFIECOFFEE is responsible for the personal data described in this policy. Questions and privacy requests can be sent to support@koffiecoffee.app.

2. Information we collect

Account and profile information

We collect your email address, account identifier, display name, and any optional profile details you provide, such as a profile image or location text.

Coffee and brew content

We store the content you add to the service, including brew recipes, ratings, taste notes, coffee bags, bean details, images, favorites, and related activity.

Community and safety information

If you use Community features, we process the content you choose to share, profile information shown with that content, reports you submit, and users you block. Reports may include details you provide about potentially harmful or objectionable content.

Gaggimate and espresso telemetry

When you choose to connect a supported Gaggimate machine, the app can read shot information over your local network. Confirmed shot summaries may be saved with your brew. Connection settings are stored on your device.

Usage and diagnostic information

We and our service providers may process device, browser, network, interaction, performance, and error information needed to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and understand the service. The website may use necessary authentication cookies and local storage.

Support communications

We process the messages and contact details you provide when you ask for support, request an export, report a problem, or make a privacy request.

3. How we use information

  • Provide authentication, syncing, storage, and app features.
  • Show your history, insights, and personalized recommendations.
  • Display content you intentionally share through Community features.
  • Receive reports, apply blocks, prevent abuse, and protect users.
  • Respond to support, export, and privacy requests.
  • Monitor reliability, diagnose errors, and improve the service.
  • Meet legal obligations and enforce our terms.

Depending on where you live, we rely on the performance of our agreement with you, your consent, our legitimate interests in operating a safe and reliable service, and compliance with legal obligations.

4. Optional AI espresso dial-in

The app asks for your consent before using third-party AI dial-in features. If you agree, relevant brew metrics, coffee details, baseline recommendations, and optional confirmed Gaggimate telemetry may be sent to OpenAI to generate a suggestion.

The AI request is designed to exclude your account ID, email address, and profile information, and is sent with response storage disabled through the API setting store: false. You can decline or revoke this consent and continue using the rest of the app.

5. When information is shared

We use service providers to operate KOFFIECOFFEE, including:

  • Supabase for authentication, database services, storage, and server functions.
  • OpenAI for optional AI espresso dial-in requests after consent.
  • Vercel for website hosting, performance, and website analytics.
  • Sentry for error monitoring when enabled.

We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect users and the service, or as part of a business reorganization where appropriate safeguards apply. We do not sell personal data or use it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

6. Community visibility

Profile and coffee content you choose to share through Community features can be visible to other users. Private account information and content that you do not publish are not made public merely because you have an account.

You can report content or block another user from the relevant Community menus. Blocking hides that user's content from your Community, library, and profile surfaces.

7. Retention and deletion

We generally keep account data and user content while your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You can delete individual content where the app offers that control or request account deletion.

Account deletion removes the account and associated app-owned content from active systems. Limited information may remain temporarily in backups, security logs, or moderation records until ordinary rotation, or longer where retention is necessary to meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, or protect users.

See our account-deletion page for instructions and details.

8. Your choices and rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access, correct, or export your personal data.
  • Delete your account and associated content.
  • Withdraw consent, including consent for optional AI features.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing.
  • Complain to your local data-protection authority.

You can use in-app privacy controls or contact support@koffiecoffee.app. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.

9. International transfers and security

Our providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on approved transfer safeguards.

We use technical and organizational safeguards intended to protect information, including authenticated access and database access controls. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

10. Children

KOFFIECOFFEE is not directed to children. If local law requires parental consent for a person to use an online service, that person should not create an account without the required consent.

11. Changes and contact

We may update this policy as the service or legal requirements change. The current version and update date will remain available on this page.

Questions can be sent to support@koffiecoffee.app.
